Skeet shooting was invented in the 1920s as a sport called
Clock Shooting with the shooting stations set in a semi-circle similar to a
clock, with targets thrown from a high- and low-house. Skeet shooting is
administered by the National Skeet Shooting Association or NSSA.
The Middletown Sportsmen’s Club (MSC) has 2 skeet fields
that are lit for night shooting. Skeet shooters may register at the Skeet
House. The skeet fields are open to shooters during regular club hours. The
skeet fields have their own clubhouse where shooters can relax and observe other
skeet shooters.
The MSC offers a variety of skeet leagues and events
including a winter skeet league, and several memorial shoots in honor of past
MSC members/employees.
