Sporting clays is a form of clay pigeon shooting often
described as ‘golf with a shotgun’ because a typical course includes 10 to 15
different shooting stations laid out over natural terrain. Unlike trap and
skeet which are games of repeatable target presentations, sporting clays offers
a variety of trajectories, angles, speeds, elevations, distances and target
sizes. Targets are thrown in singles and in pairs. Usually 6 to 10 targets are
shot at each station by a squad of up to 6 shooters for a total of 50 to 100
targets per person.
The MSC’s sporting clays course offers 10 to 15 different
shooting stations that are reset each month. Sporting clays shooters may
register at the clubhouse desk. Trappers are available at any time to accompany
and direct your squad around the course while pulling targets at each station.
Although we accommodate sporting clay shooters at any time, we appreciate if you
call ahead and make a reservation for your squad. The course is golf-cart
friendly. Sporting clays shooters can register targets on the first Saturday of
every month.
